Hello! My name is Grey.
I am white, queer & trans, and from a background of generational poverty. I strive to be self-reflective, to educate myself on cultures that are different from my own, and to maintain a focus on cultural humility in my practice. Issues of equity, social justice, and advocacy are at the core of who I am personally and professionally.
My counseling practice is grounded in queer theory and narrative therapy. I work with adults with a range of concerns, including cultural and systemic oppression, sociopolitical issues, identity, anxiety, trauma, grief, and substance use. I specialize in working with queer & trans folks. My goal is to work with you collaboratively to achieve your desired goals for counseling. I bring myself into the counseling relationship. Being genuine with you is very important to me, and I believe that it is necessary if I expect you to be genuine with me. I do not expect to be an expert about you or your experiences, only a guide to help you grow and meet your own goals.
I obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adams State University in 2023, a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Kentucky University in 2015, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 2012. I presently serve as Teaching Faculty in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University New England. I am licensed in Ohio, Kentucky, and Colorado.
In my free time, I can usually be found with my wife, our children, and our many cats, or playing way too much Final Fantasy.
