Hi, I’m Ree! I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys as a Counselor at Mindfully Denver. My approach is deeply rooted in person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and existential philosophies, allowing me to connect with clients on a meaningful level. I believe in the power of collaboration and work closely with clients to help them craft their own unique paths to wellness. By utilizing evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I empower clients to achieve their goals. Incorporating Motivational Interviewing, I strive to understand each client’s unique challenges and aspirations, advocating for them within the community to ensure they have access to vital resources such as housing, employment, and healthcare.
My journey in mental health counseling began at the Center for Dependency, Addiction, and Rehabilitation (CeDAR), a division of UCHealth, where I served as a Clinical Intern. This role provided me with invaluable experience in one-on-one and group therapy sessions, crisis intervention, and comprehensive assessments. I developed individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs, focusing on modifying harmful behaviors and fostering positive change.
Before transitioning to counseling, I spent several years in New Zealand, where I helped to lead impactful initiatives in mental health advocacy and community engagement. At Momentum Waikato Community Foundation, I helped launch the first community foundation in the Waikato region (the Hobbiton Shire countryside from The Lord of the Rings), creating grant programs and managing creative projects. As the Head Angel at Social Angels Charitable Trust, I spearheaded a nationwide charitable giving community, inspiring thousands to support mental health causes. These experiences shaped my dedication to improving lives and fostering understanding around mental health, a passion that continues to drive my work at Mindfully Denver. My ultimate goal is to empower clients to take charge of their mental health.
