Hi all! My name is River, and I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate. I hold two master’s degrees in mental health and have training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), the Gottman method for couples therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). I have plenty of evidence-based tools in my kit, and I am passionate about guiding people of all ages and walks of life toward meaningful change.
Are you going through a major life transition and need some support? Have you experienced trauma? Do you struggle with anxiety? Do you avoid people, places, and things in the hopes that doing so will keep your anxiety in check? Is your relationship in trouble? Or maybe it just needs a little fine-tuning?
Whatever you are dealing with, I know what works — not just from reading books and sitting in classrooms (though I have done plenty of that, too!) but from a life rooted in my own experiences. In me you will find a warm, authentic counselor who believes in meeting people with genuine compassion, fierce acceptance, and gentle humor.
If you have been struggling, just know that you don’t have to struggle alone. As the late (great) Ram Dass once said, “We are all just walking each other home.”
“Home” means different things to different people. It might be a relationship, a feeling, or a community. It might be finding that one place where you are accepted without condition. Where you are well and truly known.
Whatever home means to you, I would welcome the opportunity to walk you there. I can’t promise the road will be an easy one, but I can promise I’ll bring a map and help chart the course. Whether you are seeking short-term counseling to get you through a rough patch, or you want help changing longstanding patterns or negative core beliefs, it would be an honor and a privilege to accompany you along your path.
